LOCATION: Varies
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in working with youth ages 11-15.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in youth programming, development, adaptive recreation and community resources.
  • Strong understanding of the physical, emotional and social needs of youth.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR & AED Certification
  • Demonstrated safe work practices
  • Valid Class G driver's licence and acceptable driver's abstract
Assets:
  • Member of Parks and Recreation Ontario
  • Experience with Active Net Recreation Software System
  • Safe Food Handlers Certificate
Duties:
  • Develop, coordinate and implement a variety youth programs
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants, and families.
  • Display knowledge, skills and abilities which provide competent leadership in specific program activities. Leadership and supervisory qualities are essential.
  • Continue to assess recreational programming needs for youth programs in the community.
  • Coordinate community partners and volunteers to enhance programs offered.
  • Monitor program participation and collect feedback to improve programming.
  • Complete all administrative functions for all Youth Programs including but not limited to program planning, ordering supplies, and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Assist with the establishment and enforcement of policies and procedures for the Recreation Services Division as it relates to Youth Programs.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation related to program activities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening and weekend shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned
Hourly Wage - $22.80
Hours: 15 hours per week
