As the Sales & Event Manager, you will be the strategic driver behind Chop Steakhouse, Airport and London locations sales development, client engagements and all aspects of event planning and execution. This leadership position cultivates high-value relationships, identifies new business opportunities, and fosters collaboration across departments and locations, to ensure the seamless execution of high standards that Chop Steakhouse is committed to delivering.
Key responsibilities include:
Business Development
• Pursue new sales opportunities to grow event bookings across private dining, corporate functions, and bespoke experiences.
• Build relationships with local businesses, corporate groups, tourism & hospitality partners to expand market reach.
Sales Strategy
• Develop, execute, and refine sales strategies that align with business goals and market conditions.
Event Coordination & Planning:
• Lead and manage the full cycle of event execution, from client consultation to post-event follow-up.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and customize events accordingly.
• Prepare detailed event proposals, timelines, and execution plans.
• Prepare detailed Banquet Event Orders and clearly communicate event requirements to operations and culinary teams.
Operational Oversight:
• Work closely with the operations, culinary, and service teams to prepare and ensure flawless execution of events.
Client Relationship Management:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all event planning-related inquiries to both Chop Dixon Road (Toronto, Airport location) and Chop London.
• Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships to promote repeat business and referrals.
• Deliver high levels of service that exceeds client expectations.
Budget & Reporting:
• Manage event budgets effectively, ensuring profitability and value.
• Track and analyze event metrics and client feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in event planning or management, preferably in hospitality.
• 3+ years of sales management experience
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with acute attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record of executing events of varying scales and formats.
• A team player with outstanding organizational skills, capable of working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Proficiency with Tripleseat & Opentable, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle, with the ability to travel between London and Toronto airport locations as needed.
Compensation Plan:
Total Compensation Package: $65,000–$95,000, which includes base pay and estimated annual commissions based on sales performance.
The wide compensation range reflects variability in individual sales results. Candidates with stronger experience are positioned to generate higher sales volume and, in turn, earn higher commissions.

Summary:

The Marketing and Events Coordinator will be responsible for developing positive, on-going relationships with community organizations on behalf of Chop Steakhouse via public relations and marketing. By capitalizing on these relationships, this candidate will drive sales and implement marketing initiatives that advance our strategic mission and goals. This person loves building our online presence by taking photos and videos that can be sent to our corporate marketing team for social media postings. This position works closely with the General Manager and Management team. A true partnership between the managers will be important to ensure the success of the overall business. This person leads by example and exudes a can do attitude. The successful candidate will build and maintain high volume sales while delighting our community. This individual also works effectively without supervision and has a well-developed sense of business acumen. This role will be a part of an established and growing franchise group that is looking to build more locations in the Ontario Marketplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage contact database.
  • Report areas of opportunity based on guest feedback.
  • Submit weekly tracking sheets as to who has been contacted.
  • Book and plan large parties/events and accommodate the needs of the guests.
  • Marketing/Social Media Ambassador.
  • Research data, create ideas and contact media representatives.
  • Manage the online sentiment.
  • Oversee host team and maintain integrity of the front door portfolio for both day and night shifts. Could include training/developing host crew members
  • Plan Team Events

Profitability:

  • Sales forecasting

  • Has a helping hand in achieving Operating Profit targets

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Event planning experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of industry sales, marketing, and public relations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Excel is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with a team or individually.
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly and to ensure they are clearly communicated to an audience.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Outgoing personality with a sense of humor.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and results oriented.
  • Hospitality industry experience would be an asset.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment & show initiative.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by the business.

Compensation Plan:

  • Salary $55,000.00 - $58,000 (includes gratuities)
  • Potential Commission $12,000 (2% based on budgeted sales of $600,000)
