Job Title: VP, Operations/Chief Operating Officer

Terms of Employment:

  • Full-time, permanent, 40 hours per week

Compensation: $164,000.00 per year

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will own the strategic execution of the sales process, customer support, services and training and support areas of the business, ensuring teams are on task and future focussed for growth. The Vice President of Operations will leverage the companys positioning, momentum, and growing markets to accelerate revenues and profits. A significant focus in this role is the management of people, building and developing a team of high performing professionals. It is expected that the successful candidate will bring a driving, hands-on, lead from the front approach to that task while nurturing a collaborative culture of excellence.

  • Build a scalable and high performing organization that is flexible in meeting the needs of customers in software adoption, consulting services, and future product growth across the customer base.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization to ensure projects are successfully completed on time. Collaboration with senior management designing lean project management processes to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables. Create and adapt PS delivery model to capitalize on evolving customer needs and new competitive offerings. Consistent time reporting across the software development, support and services group to measure business efficiency.
  • In collaboration with senior management and sales, ensure effective negotiations of customer contracts/sales to protect the bottom line revenues, delivering group wide margins >30%. Ensure operational milestones are met on time, with high quality within agreed cost objectives. Ensure timely and accurate invoicing for work with Finance.
  • Manage global project resource capacity planning, taking a proactive approach to hiring and redistributing analysts to various projects as required for optimal, profitable service delivery. Ensure that organizational capacity is in place by which to deliver on the companys plans.
  • Work with the Customer Account Leads to ensure strong relationships and continued high customer satisfaction on support and services work. Develop and provide the performance management framework and develop individuals within their teams to meet and exceed their technical competencies and leadership abilities
  • Work closely with the sales leadership, BD services and support teams to accelerate and drive the growth of the business, new market development (e.g. CCUS, Offshore wind, Geothermal, Nuclear), sector leadership and profitability.
  • Maintain, improve, and create senior level relationships with existing and potential customers.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Education:
    • Masters degree in Geology, Geophysics or a related field
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership capacities;
    • Minimum of least 5 years experience in an operations role with specific revenue growth responsibilities;
    • Senior level experience with full responsibility in a geoscience software company;
