The Role

Our client is a large global steel manufacturing company looking for a Regional Sales Manager, in charge of managing their own territory and bringing in new business.

The right candidate must be bilingual in both French and English and have the flexibility to travel to the US for sales meetings once or twice per year. Additionally, the Regional Sales Manager/Outside Sales Representative must have an understanding of CAD drawings, stay up to date with any construction projects, have handled steel products previously, and have an active Driver's license.

The position directly reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for implementing new processes, meeting sales targets, and ensuring the company's profitability.

This position is fullyremote; however, candidates must reside in the Sudbury, Ontario area. The shift times for this role are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with required flexibility to stay overtime depending on the client's needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads by example, ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed during every interaction with the customer.
  • Actively participates in the team's meetings and takes pride in each team member's contributions.
  • Proposes and helps implement process improvements and best practices across operations, including procedure development and adherence to current workflows (quoting, orders, claims, etc.).
  • Monitors KPIs, ensuring quality control, and resolving customer issues promptly.
  • Responsible for achieving regional sales and profitability targets, while driving future growth through value-based selling strategies.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships, expands the client base, and prioritizes sales efforts based on company goals.
  • Provides strong product knowledge in every meeting with prospective clients, taking pride in the products sold. Can speak about every product feature to differentiate the company's diverse product line, and select the best option for the client.
  • Executes regional sales strategies, prepares reports and forecasts, and supports contract negotiations.
  • Stays informed on market trends and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Prospects for new business and promotes value-added services and advanced technical solutions.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams and continuously pursues professional development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5+ years in sales or manufacturing, with strong technical knowledge insteel, mining, industrial, recycling, or maintenance repair industries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).CRM and ERP system exposure required.
  • Thrives under pressure, meets deadlines, and consistently delivers outstanding customer service.
  • Works independently with sound judgment, professionalism, and a proactive attitude.
  • Strong analytical, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; creative and dependable.
  • Maintains professional, courteous relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bilingual (English/French, where required) and holds a valid drivers license.
  • Proven success in previous sales roles, with strong closing abilities and a talent for quickly learning and retaining product knowledge to effectively highlight features and benefits to customers.
  • An active Driver's license and a clean record.
  • Ability to travel to the US, and rarely to different provinces when needed.

Compensation & Perks:

  • $90,000 to $110,000, depending on experience
