Job Summary
If you're interested in an Entry Level Seed Technician job, then this is the best role for you! Supporting the Agronomic Research Specialists, the Seed Technicians will be responsible for sorting, cleaning, and shipping of canola harvest samples. Additionally, they will be involved in hand-harvesting canola and soybean plots for testing and seed purification, including cleaning, sorting, treating, and packaging harvested seed.
Job Description
- Sorting incoming canola seed sample shipments
- Cleaning canola samples to prepare them for lab testing
- Packaging and shipping canola samples
- Hand-harvesting of canola and soybean plots
- Operating small stationary threshing equipment
- Cleaning, sorting, treating, and packaging harvested seed
- Preparing shipments of packaged seed
- Assisting in end-of-season cleanup and inventory
- Outdoor field activities including hand-harvesting of soybean plots and operation of small stationary threshing equipment
Skills Required
- Ability to perform manual labor including hand-harvesting
- Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods
- Ability to operate small stationary threshing equipment
- Attention to detail for sorting and cleaning tasks
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Education/Training/Certifications
- None required
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors for an extended period is required
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $19.00 to $27.90 per hour based on qualifications.
