Job Summary: Responsible for creating and Maintaining all CAD data related to assigned programs, following any specifications provided by the Project Engineer/Manager or Customer, under supervision.
This position is a great opportunity for an experienced Tool and Die Maker to make the transition from the Plant floor to the Engineering office.
Required Qualifications:
- Certified/Licensed Tool & Die Maker
- Background in Press Stamping Operations
- Trained in CAD Software with practical experience
- Knowledge of Surfacing, Solid Modelling and Simulation
- Effective communicator with strong technical writing and presentation skills or abilities
- Job shop experience in automotive manufacturing is an asset
- Computer proficiency of Microsoft Office and Windows Outlook
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical problem-solving abilities
- Self-Motivated and able to work independently under minimal supervision
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively
- Solid mathematical and analytical skills
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and technical issues
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Maintain 2D and 3D design files in alignment with both internal standards as well as external customer requirements
- Support the creation of advanced design proposals, guided by Project Design Engineering, Engineering Analysis and customer supplied GD&T specifications
- Recommend alternative design scenarios to meet or exceed customer requirements
- Design tooling and CAD data to suit Martinrea and Customer's standards in order to produce high quality parts
- Extract information from design drawings and provide specific dimensions for details shown
- Interfaces with Project Engineering, Manufacturing Division and Customers to meet requirements for assigned projects
- Travel as needed to meet with customers and support project development
- All other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned and deemed necessary by your direct Supervisor

- Communicate effectively with employees and management staff
- Perform compulsory overtime as necessary and in accordance with legislative requirements

Health and Safety Responsibilities
