Job DescriptionThe Department of Psychiatry provides a broad range of mental health services for all ages, from children and youth to adults and seniors, in outpatient clinics and inpatient services. We have extensive mental health services including our stellar brain interventional clinic providing rRMS, ECT and Eskatamine therapies. We also have a comprehensive day program which utilizes the Stepped Care Model. We have one of the largest psychosis programs in Canada, involving state-of-the-art clozapine and LAI clinics and a dedicated inpatient program for psychosis. Our programs are well supported by a team of nurse practitioners, social workers, crisis workers and councillors. Our hospitals are situated in a multicultural setting with a highly diverse population and there is ample opportunity to experience a wide array of clinical experience and transcultural psychiatry. With Osler being the primary clinical site for the newly established Toronto Metropolitan University's School of Medicine, successful applicants will have the opportunity to contribute to a brand-new residency program, train medical learners and also advance themselves in academic psychiatry.

The successful applicant will have opportunities in geriatrics, general adult, addiction, child and adolescent psychiatry in both outpatients and inpatient settings. Compensation is FFS as per the OHIP billing schedule.
Accountabilities:
- Work outpatient, inpatient and Emergency Department shifts
- Participate in the on-call schedule on a rotating basis along with quality initiatives and committee work
- Accredited medical degree (or equivalent)
- Certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC)
- License to practice and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of attendance, punctuality and accountability
- Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population)

Osler is the primary academic teaching centre for Toronto Metropolitan University's medical learners. Physicians are expected to apply for an academic appointment with the faculty of medicine at the university.
