Role Description
Raising The Village is seeking a seasoned, strategic, and relationship-driven Director of Partnerships to lead and expand a portfolio of high-impact institutional partnerships. This role is responsible for developing and managing relationships with a range of partners, including professional private foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies, and other institutional funders, to accelerate our growth and deepen our impact.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropy, the Director will serve as a senior external representative of RTV, lead engagement and cultivation strategies, and drive funding opportunities that align with our mission and strategic priorities. This is a high-visibility leadership role that works cross-functionally with programs, finance, Venn (M&E), and senior leadership to design and deliver transformative partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Leadership
● Contribute to the development and execution of a partnership strategy aligned with RTV's organizational growth goals and programmatic priorities
● Provide high-level guidance on funding trends and partnership opportunities across philanthropic and institutional landscapes
● Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure cross-functional alignment and readiness for strategic partnerships
2. Partner Engagement & Relationship Management
● Cultivate and steward relationships with philanthropic foundations, multilaterals, and institutional donors
● Represent RTV in high-level meetings, strategic forums, and sector events, positioning the organization as a credible, high-impact partner
● Lead the design and implementation of engagement plans for new and existing partners, including joint planning, visibility, and learning opportunities
3. Funding & Strategic Collaborations
● Identify and pursue funding opportunities with private and institutional partners to support core and programmatic priorities
● Oversee the development of high-quality proposals, concept notes, and reports in collaboration with the programs, Venn, and finance teams
● Lead negotiations for funding agreements, MOUs, and partnership frameworks, ensuring compliance and mutual value
4. Impact, Alignment & Influence
● Set and track KPIs for government partnerships, funding pipelines, and engagement outcomes
● Ensure alignment between RTV's mission and programming and the priorities of philanthropic and institutional partners, identifying areas of shared value without compromising organizational direction or strategy.
● Leverage insights and stakeholder feedback to inform RTV's strategy and contribute thought leadership within the sector.
Required Skills and Expertise
● 10+ years of experience building and managing partnerships with philanthropic foundations, institutional donors, or multilateral agencies
● Strong understanding of institutional funding landscapes, donor priorities, and development financing mechanisms
● Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with a track record of engaging high-level stakeholders and funder audiences
● Proven ability to lead complex proposal development processes and co-design initiatives with cross-functional teams
● Strong negotiation skills and experience developing funding agreements, partnership frameworks, and joint implementation plans
● Strategic thinker with excellent judgment, planning, and execution capabilities in fast- paced environments
● Commitment to RTV's mission, values, and principles of equity and accountability.
