The Aluminum Extrusion Saw Operator is responsible for the accurate and efficient cutting of aluminum extrusions or materials to specified dimensions and tolerances using a cold saw.

Duties and Responsibilities

• · Set up and operate the aluminum cold saw to cut materials according to production specifications.
• · Adjust saw settings, including blade angles, speeds, and feeds, to ensure precise cuts.
• · Load aluminum materials onto the saw, ensuring proper alignment for cutting.
• · Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure compliance with quality standards and blueprints.
• · Perform measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, or tape measures.
• · Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of saws, blades, and work area.
• · Report any mechanical issues or defects to the maintenance team promptly.
• · Record production data, material usage, and any discrepancies in designated logs or systems.
• · Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Health & Safety

· Report all incidents, accidents and/or hazards.

• · Participate and/or cooperate with the JHSC to improve safety.
• · Wear personal protective equipment as required.
• · Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
• · Comply with the Workplace Safety Insurance Act (WSIA).
• · Comply with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

Skills:

• · Must be able to speak, read and understand English
• · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• · Basic math proficiency.
• Able to read a measuring tape.

Physical Requirements:

• ·Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and machinery

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in machine operation is an asset.
