Position Summary
The Senators Community Foundation
(SCF) is looking for an energetic, empathic, and passionate Donor and Partner Relations Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, creating, directing, and implementing a variety of donor engagement initiatives. This role involves managing relationships with donors, charitable gift recipients, and community partners to ensure sustained support and impactful contributions to the organizations mission.
Reporting directly to the President, Senators Community Foundation, the Foundation Specialist will be responsible for the following:
Key Responsibilities
Donor Relationship Management
- Develop and manage donor stewardship plan and implementation of stewardship activities through the SCF gifting communications strategy which is not limited to drafting gifting proposals, confirming donations with donors and charitable partners, and providing thank you letters to donors.
- Develop and maintain donor database and perform regular reviews to ensure accuracy through multiple platforms including Microsoft Suite, Canada Helps, and
CRM software.
Knowledge of Salesforce is an asset.
- Develop proposals and manage contracts for donor agreements to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Develop best practises and deploy the Gift in Kind strategy to optimize non-monetary contributions to support charity-based community initiatives.
- Create and compile the annual funding reports to showcase the organizations achievements and financial health.
- Be familiar with various critical community causes for support, SCF positioning, and key messages of the fundraising priorities.
- Manage relationships with donors, charitable gift recipients, and community partners to ensure effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholder
- Oversee SCF activations and logistics in the community, such as the Equipment for Kids program, visit to CHEO, breakfast program, Snowsuit Fund etc. where our,
senior leadership team, board members, players and their families/ partners play a significant hands-on role in the community.
- Organize and manage donor stewardship
events to enhance the donor engagement
experience and to retain and incentive new donors and partners.
- Provide general support at events in relation to signature or third-party events.
Represent the organization at internal and external events.
Financial Management
- In collaboration with Finance, record, receipt, and acknowledge all donations not limited to individual giving and event proceeds to the Foundation.
- In collaboration with Finance, record and acknowledge all distributions to charity partners.
- Manage pledge collections, donor relations, and gift activity reports through CRM tools such as Salesforce
- Demonstrate a high-level of diplomacy, tact and professionalism when dealing with confidential donor and charitable gift information.
- Excel in cross-departmental communication and collaboration to ensure timely and accurate budget and charitable reporting.
Qualifications
- Experience in a field closely related to non for profit, donor and/or charitable relations.
- Previous
experience in successfully building and managing donor relationships through organizing events, managing
and developing contracts, and tracking donor giving history and donor cycle through CRM systems.
- Must have excellent communication skills not limited to written, verbal, and digital using graphic design tools such as Canva to create compelling, illustrative and impactful content.
- Must excel in a high-volume, face-paced environment, where attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are crucial.
- Strong ability to work independently and work as a part of both small and large teams
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suiet is essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours where occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
- Bilingual (English/ French) is considered an asset.
Working Conditions:
