We are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Project Manager to lead the front-end planning, budgeting, and coordination of industrial construction projects. This individual will play a key role in translating client needs into actionable project plans and ensuring seamless hand-off to the operations and construction teams. You'll be deeply involved in project scoping, estimating, design coordination, and early procurement strategy—particularly within the unique regulatory and technical context of food-related industrial builds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead preconstruction activities from concept through to construction start, ensuring alignment with client requirements and budget

  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, engineers, and internal teams to develop preliminary project scopes, schedules, and budgets

  • Conduct feasibility studies and site evaluations for new builds, expansions, and retrofits

  • Coordinate design development, value engineering, and constructability reviews

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate conceptual and detailed cost estimates

  • Support bid strategy and subcontractor/vendor prequalification and engagement

  • Identify long-lead items and manage early procurement processes

  • Participate in contract negotiations and risk analysis with legal and commercial teams

  • Ensure compliance with food industry construction standards, health and safety, and applicable codes

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in preconstruction or project management, preferably in the industrial or design-build sector

  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction processes, and cost estimation for food-safe or cold storage environments

  • Experience working on food production, warehousing, or logistics facilities is a strong asset

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with clients and internal teams

  • Proficient in project management software, estimating tools, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Knowledge of OBC, CFIA/Health Canada guidelines, and industrial permitting processes

  • PMP, PQS, or Gold Seal certification is an asset
