This role is critical in shaping the technical vision, building scalable systems, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability. As a key member of the executive leadership team, you'll ensure engineering is tightly aligned with business priorities, enabling the company to scale effectively while maintaining technical excellence.

A day in the life as a Vice President, Engineering:

  • Oversee Development Teams - Manage front-end and back-end engineering teams, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Drive Operational Excellence - Monitor system reliability and performance, implement improvements, and ensure compliance with security regulations.
  • Project Management - Set clear requirements, goals, and timelines for software development projects aligned with company objectives.
  • Team Growth & Leadership - Hire, mentor, and develop engineers, QA professionals, and technical leaders across remote teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with peers across departments and contribute to company-wide strategic planning and prioritization.
  • Technology Innovation - Stay abreast of emerging technologies (e.g., AI) and lead the implementation of innovative tools and integrations.
  • Policy & Process Oversight - Review and update internal systems policies and ensure scalable, efficient engineering processes.

If the below describe your knowledge, experience and character, this role could be for you:

  • I have 10+ years in senior engineering leadership roles (e.g., Director, VP), including experience in both startup and scaling environments.
  • I have 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies and modern human-computer interfaces.
  • I bring 10+ years of hands-on experience in both back-end and front-end development.
  • I have a strong understanding of agile methodologies and excellent project management skills.
  • I've led and mentored high-performing, diverse, and remote engineering teams for 8+ years.
  • I'm skilled in aligning engineering goals with business objectives and implementing scalable processes.
  • I'm a strong communicator who collaborates effectively with global teams and executive leadership.
  • I thrive in an agile environment that is constantly changing and encourages team members to collectively collaborate and communicate.
  • I love to be directly involved in projects and initiatives that offer continued learning and endless opportunity to express my ideas and build my leadership skills.
  • I'm strategic, resourceful, and analytical with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • I'm decisive under pressure and excel at giving direction and holding teams accountable.
  • I'm passionate about innovation and continuous learning.
  • I'm willing to travel, have a valid passport and have no travel restrictions that limit my ability to travel between Canada, Vietnam and USA as required for the role.
