Our client, a well-established, Kelowna-based company with a global footprint is seeking a flexible, detail-oriented, and experienced Accountant to join their team. Specializing in the design, manufacturing, and installation of custom aluminum products, this organization is recognized internationally for its innovation, craftsmanship, and precision. Their client base includes major commercial partners and world-renowned customers across North America and beyond, with projects that elevate architectural spaces through bold design and high-performance functionality.

This position reports directly to the CEO and will ultimately operate as the sole member of the finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for everything from day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll to high-level financial reporting and strategic input. Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP, including updating templates, submitting data, tracking progress, and posting journal entries;
  • Administer employee benefits and RRSP plans; onboard new hires and process terminations (e.g. ROE, final pay, plan changes);
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including payroll, benefits, and HR-related documentation;
  • Create and send customer invoices (proforma, deposits, shipments);
  • Record payments and manage deposits, web orders, and unearned revenue allocations;
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments;
  • Set up new vendors and customers; complete credit applications and manage related profiles;
  • Enter and reconcile bills, credit card purchases, and prepaid expenses; assign correct accounts and ensure accuracy with inventory/purchase order systems;
  • Process payments to vendors by EFT, wire, e-transfer, cheque, etc., and manage AP based on due dates;
  • Reconcile CAD/USD bank and credit card statements monthly. Resolve discrepancies and manage online deposits;
  • Monitor account balances and transfer funds between accounts as needed;
  • Maintain accurate records for deferred income;
  • Complete all month-end processes within tight timelines, including preparing and posting journal entries (accruals, prepaids, amortization, etc.), reconciling accounts, and finalizing reports for internal and regulatory reporting;
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and completeness; generate reports for management;
  • Prepare and remit tax filings (GST, PST, income tax installments) and support external accountants during year-end, including providing reconciliations, reports, and supporting entries.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including full-cycle bookkeeping and payroll;
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and ADP (or similar accounting/payroll platforms);
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting;
  • Experience preparing and filing government remittances (GST, PST, payroll taxes, etc.);
  • Comfortable managing both day-to-day transactional work and higher-level financial analysis;
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities;
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial data entry and reconciliation;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a flexible, solution-oriented mindset;
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, constantly evolving work environment;
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Experience supporting or coordinating with external accountants and auditors is an asset.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Kelowna, BC, with a salary range of $70,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience. Our client offers employer-paid benefits after three months, RRSP contributions after one year, and three weeks of vacation to start.
