Role

As the Director of Human Resources, reporting directly to the President, you will serve as a key strategic partner and advisor to the executive team. This position oversees the development and execution of HR strategies, policies, and programs in Canada and the United States that support the overall business objectives of Rising Edge Group. Your role will be vital in fostering a positive organizational culture, ensuring a strong focus on talent management and employee engagement, and driving initiatives that enhance overall workforce effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals and support organizational growth and change management in Canada and the United States in both union and non-union environments.
  • Lead the HR department and oversee the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across all jurisdictions.
  • Lead the HR function, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, training and development, and succession planning.
  • Foster a positive organizational culture and employee engagement through effective communication and recognition programs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HR and operational matters, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and best practices in all HR-related policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and enhance HR technology and systems to streamline processes and improve data management.
  • Oversee operational support functions, including administrative services, facilities management, and project management.
  • Establish and monitor key HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement and manage employee development initiatives, including training programs and career advancement opportunities.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the organization, ensuring a diverse workforce and equitable practices.
  • Lead organizational development initiatives that align with changing market conditions and business needs.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing HR strategy, talent management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in corporate services management (facilities, safety, compliance) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving organizational change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of compensation and benefits strategies.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and data management.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPHR, SHRM-SCP) would be considered a strong asset.
