GEI Consultants, Canada is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in shaping the electrical systems that power water and wastewater infrastructure across Canada. This is an opportunity to lead high-impact projects, work with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor emerging talent - while enjoying flexible work options and a collaborative culture.Essential Responsibilities & Duties
  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
  • Conduct condition assessments, arc flash and coordination studies, and other evaluations of electrical systems.
  • Develop technical drawings, specifications, reports, and contract documents.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to technical excellence across projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Support field activities such as site inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure adherence to Canadian electrical codes, safety regulations, and client requirements.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, proposals, and client engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada, or eligibility to obtain it.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including 5+ years in water/wastewater or municipal infrastructure.
  • Strong command of the Canadian (CEC) and Ontario Electrical Codes (OESC) and related standards (IEEE).
  • Experience in arc flash and coordination studies.
  • Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
  • Physical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to SCADA, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems in other industries such as oil and gas and transportation systems.
