We're seeking a skilled CNC Setup Operator to join our manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC and manual machines to efficiently produce components based on engineering drawings and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting abilities, solid machining knowledge, and an eye for detail.
Schedule: Afternoons; 3:00pm to 1:30am (Mon - Thurs)
Pay Rate: $24.00 + $0.50 premium
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines and bandsaws, including basic maintenance tasks
- Review blueprints, work orders, and specifications to determine tooling and production plans
- Interpret G-code for optimization and make necessary program edits
- Perform first-piece inspections and support training of new operators
- Inspect finished parts and monitor machine output for defects or malfunctions
- Collaborate with engineering on component design and manufacturing feedback
- Maintain accurate production data and follow error-reporting procedures
- Assemble and align tooling, gauges, and work holding setups according to job requirements
- Understand and apply geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Use measuring instruments and hand tools to adjust and install machine components
- Attend team meetings and safety training sessions as required
- Communicate professionally with supervisors and team members
- Maintain excellent attendance and flexibility for overtime when needed
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CNC operation experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Intermediate knowledge of machining practices and production workflows
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret engineering documents and measurement tools
- Effective verbal communication and team collaboration skill
