Role & Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Designer to join our team in Belleville Ontario. If you have strong technical design experience with an emphasis on Structural elements, along with a drive to learn and grow with a well-established design/build company, then you may be our next Designer.

As a new designer you will play a key role in interpreting conceptual designs, performing detailed layouts, and preparing high-quality general arrangement and detail drawings in adherence to EMS-Tech Inc. standards. Here are some of the things youll be working on:

• Interpret conceptual designs and prepare detailed layouts and drawings to meet project specifications.
• Continue developing analytical skills and proficiency in modern CAD tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Produce drawings adhering to EMS-Tech Inc. standards with a focus on quality and presentation.
• Verify the accuracy of drawings prepared by team members as needed.
• Collaborate with other design team members and communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
• Prepare technical reports for component inspections and review technical matters with suppliers or contractors.
• No two designs or client requirements will be quite the same, youll need to be flexible and creative
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Design or Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma or equivalent with coursework in CAD.
• 210 years of relevant experience in design and drafting preferably within a Engineering design company
• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with modern CAD tools.
• Experience laying out, designing and generating conceptual and general arrangement drawings for bulk material handling systems and their associated steel structures
• Preference will be given to any experience on designs using international codes and standards for structural steel, guarding, access, and platforms.
• Commitment to confidentiality and intellectual property policies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
