The Messenger represents Brandon Clinic Medical Corporation in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate handling of a variety of support tasks that directly impact patient care and clinic operations. The Messenger is expected to be organized and detail-oriented in maintaining patient records and completing daily operational duties in a timely and reliable fashion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mail, Packages, Document, Supplies and Instrument Handling:
    • Collect, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, interoffice correspondence, out of clinic paperwork and packages to designated areas throughout the clinic on a continual basis.
    • Act as a courier for transporting instruments from Treatment Rooms to Sterilization room on a ongoing basis. Returning blue instrument bins and sterilized instruments to the individual areas.
    • Act as a courier for transporting mail, supplies and any items to and from the hospital as required.
  • Lab Specimen Management:
    • Collect and transport lab requisitions and specimens throughout the organization to Dynacare and Westman Lab.
    • Log Specimen transport outside of the organization.
    • Reconcile samples transported out of clinic with reports received.
  • Maintain Medical Supplies:
    • Receive in clinic orders, prepare and deliver supplies throughout the organization on a continual basis.
    • Complete monthly orders to ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies are available.
    • Transport, receive and unload orders into the Storage Room.
    • Complete year end inventory of supplies clinic wide.
    • Order, receive and manage drug sample cupboards throughout the clinic.
  • Hospitality and Housekeeping Support:
    • Maintain and restock coffee service areas in physician, staff, and administrative lounges.
    • Order groceries for Doctors Lounge and Administration.
    • Perform clinic laundry duties on a continual basis.
    • Tidy and organize shared spaces and supply areas to ensure a clean and professional environment.
    • Watering of plants throughout the clinic.
    • Maintaining the cleanliness of glass doors, windows and atrium glass.
    • Notify Maintenance of any required work ex light bulbs, etc.
  • Other Duties:
    • Provide general support and complete additional duties as assigned by the Manager or designate.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic keyboarding skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is an asset.
