We are seeking a talented, versatile, and culturally attuned Multimedia Strategist to support our corporate communications and branding efforts across SqDC and all its entities.
POSITION SUMMARY
As the Multimedia Strategist for Sqwqel Development Corporation (SqDC) and its affiliated business entities, including the Harrison Hot Springs Marina, Harrison Grand Motel, and other ventures, you will be responsible for both the strategic planning and hands-on creation of high-impact, culturally aligned multimedia content. Your work will support the growth, engagement, and brand reputation of the entire SqDC portfolio.

WHAT YOULL DO
Content Creation & Execution
- Design and produce high-quality multimedia materials for digital and print, including social media content, brochures, reports, presentations, and promotional visuals.
- Capture and edit professional-grade photography and videography for use in marketing campaigns, event coverage, and organizational storytelling.
- Develop video content such as interviews, project highlights, business features, and cultural vignettes for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Create and maintain branded templates for internal and external communication.
- Manage and regularly update visual content on the websites and social media channels for all SqDC entities.
- Produce signage, banners, and wayfinding visuals for events, facilities, and promotional use.
Strategic Planning & Leadership
- Develop and implement an annual multimedia strategy that aligns with SqDCs strategic goals and community values.
- Lead campaign planning across entities, including quarterly content roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure cohesion in messaging, visual identity, and cultural tone across all content streams.
- Collaborate directly with department heads and entity managers to shape content strategies for specific business goals (e.g., tourism, hospitality, economic development).
Community & Cultural Integration
- Work closely with Elders, cultural advisors, and leadership to respectfully incorporate Indigenous language, imagery, and storytelling into all creative materials.
- Ensure content represents SqDCs mission, values, and community in a way that is accurate, inclusive, and culturally respectful.
Brand Management
- Maintain and evolve SqDCs brand identity across all print and digital platforms.
- Audit and update existing content, signage, and templates to ensure brand consistency.
- Ensure proper use of brand assets across websites, promotional materials, and social channels.
Analytics, Innovation & Optimization
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of digital content and campaigns using platform analytics.
- Generate regular reports with insights and actionable recommendations for engagement growth and content optimization.
- Stay informed on multimedia trends, social media innovations, and audience behaviour.
- Recommend new tools, formats, and strategies to maintain SqDCs relevance and reach.
Project Management & Collaboration
- Manage project timelines, content calendars, and cross-entity campaigns using Monday.com.
- Mentor or provide guidance to junior team members or interns when applicable.
- Contribute to organization-wide initiatives such as public engagement campaigns, economic development events, and community celebrations.
WHAT YOULL BRING
Education:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Multimedia Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, Photography, Videography, Marketing, or a related field will be considered an asset.
- 35 years of professional experience in multimedia production, graphic design, and/or content strategy, ideally in a communications, marketing, or corporate setting.
Other Skills/Qualifications:
- Adobe Creative Suite: Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Animate, Firefly, Camera Raw, Lightroom (Classic & Lite), Acrobat.
- Other Design/Video Tools: Animaker, Canva (asset), Microsoft Word
- Social Platforms (for content creation and management): Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok.
- Meta Business Suite (preferred).
- Analytics & Reporting: Meta Insights, YouTube Studio Analytics, LinkedIn Analytics.
- WordPress (content updates, media upload, page design, blog publishing).
- Skilled use of cameras, microphones, and drones for high-quality content capture
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
