Do you know what a dog is trying to say or is about to do just by the way they move or the look on their face?
We're hiring a dog handler + sanctuary support person at our small, calm, safety first driven doggy daycare and rescue sanctuary in Richmond, BC.
Unlike other dog daycare facilities, this is not a loud, chaotic dog warehouse. We're a peaceful yet fun resort like setting where dogs play, decompress, socialize, and sometimes recover from trauma or tough pasts. We're looking for emotionally mature, grounded, and highly observant people to help care for them. This is a job for someone who can read canine body language and knows when and how to keep the peace during play sessions. Since we are a dog rescue sanctuary and we spend most of our revenue on housing, feeding and vet care expenses, we do not have funds to hire a ton of staff. That results in the full time shifts are long but we do pay a respectable wage of $21 per hour. If you show up for your shifts, work hard, actually engage and play with the dogs, don't call in sick all the time, and are on time regularly, we will treat you like royalty! If you don't come in for shifts often, don't work hard, don't actually play with and engage with the dogs and are lazy, you will be treated accordingly and promptly dismissed. We have zero tolerance for people who don't show up and work hard to provide a clean and fun experience for the dogs. The dogs deserve the best!
