Were looking for a visionary and strategic creative leader to guide the look, feel, and voice of Whitecaps FC. As Director, Creative & Content, youll lead the teams behind our video, content, and photographybringing campaigns and stories to life across digital, social, broadcast, in-stadium, and beyond.

This is a high-impact role for a dynamic thinker who thrives on turning strategy into show-stopping creative. Youll collaborate across the club to elevate the brand, connect with fans, and drive business results, all while inspiring a talented team to push creative boundaries.Youll report to the VP, Marketing and oversee three direct reports as part of an 8-person creatively led team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary creative team producing top-tier video, design, and photo content
  • Set and execute the clubs creative vision, ensuring consistent, brand-aligned storytelling
  • Own the development of content strategies across digital, social, in-stadium, and broadcast channels
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Partnerships, Ticketing, and Community teams to bring campaigns to life
  • Direct creative output for brand campaigns, hype videos, promotional materials, presentations, and storytelling pieces
  • Work with social and digital teams to optimize content for reach, engagement, and audience impact
  • Drive ideation sessions and oversee annual strategic content planning
  • Track creative performance and apply insights to improve future campaigns
  • Manage production budgets, tools, equipment, and vendor relationships
  • Stay ahead of creative trends, platform best practices, and emerging tech in sports and entertainment
  • Align with MLS partners on league toolkits, creative guidelines, and content opportunities
  • Ensure creative coverage for matchday presentation, partner needs, and broadcast advertising
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Design, Marketing, Media, or a related field (preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in creative and content roles, including 7+ in a leadership positionideally in sports, entertainment, or agency environments
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale campaigns from concept to execution across video, design, and photography
  • Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, video editing tools, and content workflows
  • Deep understanding of digital and social platforms and how content performs across channels
  • Strong creative judgment, leadership skills, and experience mentoring creative talent
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and insights to drive content strategy
  • Bonus points for experience with motion graphics, live production, or photography
  • Skilled at juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Budget management and resource planning experience
  • Flexible, self-starting, detail-oriented, and endlessly curious
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) as needed
  • A collaborative spirit and passion for brand-building, storytelling, and sports culture

Since its inaugural season in 1974, the club has united generations of loyal fans in British Columbia and beyond. With academies in eight out of ten provinces, a network of partner clubs, and hundreds of camps and clinics every year, Whitecaps FC provide a foundation for Canadas soccer future.
