The Family and Community Support Services Department is seeking an Early Childhood Program Coordinator for its municipal Early Learning Child Care Centre, reporting to the Supervisor, Child Care Services. The Early Childhood Program Coordinator will work with the other educators to support a developmentally appropriate environment for children.
What YOU'RE Responsible for:
- Provide and demonstrate leadership through role modeling and communication with staff, families, and children, recommending and consulting with supervisor on any concerns or issues arising within the children, families, and/or staff.
- Work collaboratively with other Educators and staff to create a positive and supportive team environment.
- Provide a nurturing and supportive environment that promotes children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Foster a play-based learning environment utilizing the Alberta Flight curriculum framework.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate programming based on Flight
- Use of observation and documentation to assess children's skills, interests, and needs as well as recognizing signs and symptoms of emotional or developmental delays; when necessary, accommodate the program to meet the individual needs of children through effective planning.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other community service providers working with the child.
- Provide information, resources, and ongoing support to families registered with Child Care Services.
- Advise Supervisor of any areas of concern, communicating short, mid, and long term needs of the program.
- Adhere to all safety standards and promote Beaumont's health and safety program.
- Manage the workload efficiently and proactively take initiative
- Communicate clearly and work seamlessly as part of a dynamic team
- Other duties as assigned
What YOU Bring:
- Early Childhood Diploma with Level III Child care certification
- 5 years of experience in a quality early learning Child care center
- Experience with the Flight curriculum
- A strong understanding of child development and play based learning.
- Knowledge of the Alberta Child Care Licensing Act and Regulations
- An understanding of the AHS Child care guidelines
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector
- Meet the shift requirements; shifts will include split shifts

- This position is eligible for wage top-up based on level of certification as per the Alberta Child Care Grant Funding Program guidelines with a base rate salary range of $42,822.00 - $48,204.00 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)
