Job Description

We are seeking an experienced individual to join the County of Grande Prairie as our Home Support Program Coordinator. This position is responsible for community social development by overseeing the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Home Support program offered at the County. This position includes recruitment, supervision, education and performance reviews for the Home Support Program staff.

The Home Support Program Coordinator plays a vital role in planning, organizing, and overseeing the delivery of in-home support services to individuals facing challenges related to aging, declining health, or emotional stress that impact their ability to manage daily household tasks. This position ensures that services are responsive to each client's unique circumstances, aligning with program standards and organizational values. The coordinator is responsible for scheduling, assessing client eligibility, monitoring service quality, and fostering continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to support both staff and clients in a compassionate, person centred environment.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Human Services or a related field; may consider diploma with work experience;
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working with adults, seniors, and families;
  • Supervisory experience;
  • Proficiency in administrative capacities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to use tact, diplomacy and mature judgment;
  • Exceptional organizational skills in order to plan own workload and workload of staff;
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to safety; ensuring safe work practices are implemented and maintained.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing;
  • Strong presentation skills – ability to engage others;
  • Ability to lead, motivate and coach others;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (travel is required);
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record and Child & Family Services background checks.
  • Knowledge of social systems and issues relevant to rural communities
  • Creative problem solving and decision making skills.

Work Schedule:

This position works Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for 35 hours per week. Overtime at a 1.5x rate.

Hourly Pay: $51.34 to $60.40 per hour.
