POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you a hands-on, physically fit skilled labourer looking to take the next step in your career? Join our tight-knit, hard-working team in a fast-paced fabrication shop where your work makes an immediate impact. As a Lead Hand, you'll be right in the action — operating equipment, loading trailers, guiding crew members, and helping keep daily operations moving smoothly. This isn't a role where you sit in an office all day — it's boots-on-the-ground leadership for someone who thrives in a physically demanding, high-energy environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and solid shop experience who wants to grow into a leadership role.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead by example with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to safety.
- Operate small equipment such as forklifts and skid steers for loading spools and organizing yard materials.
- Support the fabrication team with pipe assembly, hydro testing, welding prep, and bolt-ups.
- Assist with inventory, shipping/receiving, and maintaining an organized and clean workspace.
- Help ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently, working closely with the shop coordinator.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to labourers and junior crew members.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Physically fit and capable of working long hours in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience operating power and hand tools (impacts, drills, wrenches, etc.).
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, skid steers loaders, etc.
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative while also working as part of a team.
- Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous shop or field experience in oil & gas, fabrication, or a similar setting is an asset.
- Must pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Test
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Someone with a strong foundation who's hungry to grow.
- You're confident in the shop and wanting to step into a leadership role.
- You take pride in your work and care about getting the job done right — and safely.
