Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Technical Writer to join our growing global team at Sectigo.
The Technical Writer is responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining clear, user-centered documentation that supports the effective use of company products and services. Working closely with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams, they deliver high-quality technical content across multiple delivery channels. The role also contributes to documentation strategy, cross-functional initiatives, and process improvements under the supervision of more senior team members.
This is a full-time position working in the hybrid model and at least 3 days a week from our Ottawa office.
Here are the core functions, responsibilities, and expectations for this role:
- Research, write, and maintain a variety of technical documentation, including user and administrator guides, developer guides, API references, and how-to articles.
- Translate technical information into clear, concise, and accessible content for various audiences.
- Develop and manage content in a docs-as-code environment, while leveraging other documentation tools and methodologies as needed.
- Follow established documentation standards, templates, and workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, product management, and support teams to gather and validate source content.
- Review and edit content created by peers and other contributors to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation standards, tools, and processes.
- Organize and maintain a centralized, structured documentation library.
- Participate in strategic documentation initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Other duties as assigned and related to the nature of this role and company initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, or a bachelor's degree in English, communications, computer science, or a related discipline plus a Technical Writing diploma is strongly preferred.
- Industry certification in Cybersecurity is considered an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of transferable experience writing technical documentation is required. The ideal candidate should have 2 to 4+ years of relevant experience as a strong preference.
- Knowledge of the principles of docs-as-code is considered an asset.
- Experience in designing and building websites, including client-side web scripting, is considered an asset.

- Understanding of software development lifecycle and process.
- Demonstrates confidence in leveraging AI tools within a professional setting, adhering to organizational AI usage policies, and maintaining awareness of AI capabilities and limitations.
