Job Title: Project Coordinator

Salary: PM-06 $93, 327.86 - $109, 523.60 per year

Under the guidance of the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will support the oversight of City projects, including engineering design, contract administration and in-field duties on projects related to roads, intersections and sidewalks, water and wastewater systems, building construction and renovation and land development, etc.
The Project Coordinator will:
- Perform pre-design and construction infield and quantity surveys
- Conduct inspections and review information to set the scope and parameters of capital projects.
- Assist with the preparation of drawings, specifications, estimates and contract documents such as Requests for Tender, Requests for Proposal, etc.
- Inspect and confirm that project work is compliant with the designs, specifications and project requirements
- Coordinate and oversee consultants and contractors to manage a variety of project scopes in all stages of design and/or construction.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical input on project progress, management of change, construction solutions and progress claim approval.
- Support the development of project budgets and forecasts, and manage the budget, continencies and forecasted expenditures of ongoing projects.
- Perform technical reviews and provide input, comment or recommendation on design, specifications, assessments, studies, plans/drawings, materials, proposals, tenders, agreements, and reports.
- Provide contract administration support to projects.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline of Engineering or related field, including Building Sciences or Architecture. Equivalent education and/or working experience may be considered.
- CETs, EITs and Professional Engineers encouraged to apply.
- Ability to interpret, read, comprehend and convey information from engineering and construction drawings and specifications.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in related project work, coordinating the design, procurement and construction of multi-disciplined projects.
- Familiarity or experience directing the work of consultants and contractors.
- Must possess a valid G class drivers license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Proficiency in GPS Surveying, Total Station Surveying or GIS and CAD software would be an asset.
- Familiarity with applicable legislation such as the Planning Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and other applicable legislation would be an asset.
- Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines, and the ability to deal with multiple demands.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with external contractors, project partners and the public.
