Onsite work location

Located at 3250 Tennyson Ave, Victoria, BC V8Z 3P3, this full-time permanent position offers a consistent Monday to Friday schedule ensuring 40 hours per week with no weekend shifts.

Why this role matters

The Electrical Customer Service, Inside Sales representative, is responsible for building positive relationships with customers and suppliers through generating accurate quotations, sales orders, and returns that align with organizational sales targets. Inside Sales works closely with Outside Sales to provide excellent customer service, prevent potential issues, and monitor ongoing projects. This role will involve working at the counter to assist and interact with our customers when needed.

This role matters because it's the backbone of customer satisfaction and operational success. As an Inside Sales Representative, you ensure accurate quotes, orders, and returns while building trust and strong relationships with customers and suppliers. Your collaboration with the sales team, proactive problem-solving, and excellent customer service directly impact our reputation and mission to help communities thrive.

What to expect in the role

  • Customer Relations:
    Handles customer inquiries, coordinates calls, assists with sales, and supports Outside Sales.

  • Quotations:
    Prepares accurate quotes.

  • Project Management:
    Supports projects and quotations, escalating complex issues as needed.

  • Order Management:
    Processes and updates orders across multiple channels.

  • Stock Monitoring:
    Reports stock shortages and suggests new items based on demand.

  • Returns (RMA):
    Manages return processes.

  • Sales Monitoring:
    Tracks sales, open orders, and pricing to drive growth.

  • Other Tasks:
    Supports warehouse, inventory, and branch safety initiatives.

Ideal candidate profile

  • High school completion

  • 3+ years of customer service experience

  • 2+ years of electrical/lighting industry experience

  • Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in MS Office & the ability to learn new software programs

  • Basic mathematical skills

  • Wide range of expertise in the products and services provided by E.B. Horsman & Son

  • Project coordination experience

  • Ability to be inclusive, collaborative, and respectful
