THE OPPORTUNITY

Georgian Bay General Hospital is currently seeking a Supervisor of Accounts Receivable/Payable, Registration and Switchboard. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, Patient Administration, the Supervisor will oversee staffing and the day-to-day operations of, Registration, Switchboard, Accounts Receivable and Payable teams. This role is crucial for ensuring that switchboard operations, patient registration, billing, collections & accounts payable processes are delivered effectively & efficiently while creating a positive patient experience.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in patient administration, finance, and/or administrative operations to fill this newly created role. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency and excellent customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience, and academic preparation:

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in a healthcare or similarly complex setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role, previous experience in a unionized setting is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing patient registration, switchboard operations, accounts receivable/payable and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with mandatory data submissions (CCO, CIHI, MOHLTC)
  • Experience with electronic health record software in patient registration, financial and patient billing systems (Meditech would be an asset)
  • Experience with system upgrades, audits and data validation
  • Experience with internal controls, data integrity, insurance claim submissions and third-party payer coordination (e.g. WSIB, Blue Cross)
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
  • Skilled in quality improvement, workflow optimization, and staffing coordination
  • Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset
  • Experience in digital transformation or systems implementations (e.g. CIS, ERP) is an asset.

COMPENSATION

The salary for this role is $43.39 to $46.98 per hour. The successful candidate will also be eligible for up to 3% pay for performance. GBGH offers 100% employer-paid extended health benefits, an annual personal spending account, participation in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), and access to education grants.

HOURS OF WORK
