The opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists in our Capital Projects team within the Oil & Gas and Power division for a Project Manager located in Calgary, Alberta. The purpose of this position is to oversee all phases of project development- from planning and design to execution and close out ensuring scope, budget, safety and schedule compliance. This position requires technical proficiency in process systems and instrumentation, providing critical input during design, construction and commissioning phases.
The position is based out of our Calgary office with travel to Cuba as required.

In this role, you will be accountable for:
- Leading and managing capital projects from conception through commissioning across oil, gas, and power facilities.
- Developing and controlling project scope, schedules, budgets, and conducting constructability reviews.
- Ensuring all projects meet safety, quality, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Proactively identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Leading project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder communications.
- Overseeing contractor selection, negotiations, and contract management.
- Ensuring all work is compliant with internal policies, industry standards (API, ASME, IEEE, etc.), and local regulations.
- Providing technical support and review in process engineering and instrumentation/control systems and collaborating with discipline engineers during design and construction.
- Minimum of 10 years of proven project management experience in a related industry.
- Professional designation in Engineering or Technology (e.g., P.Eng., P.L.(Eng.), P.Tech.(Eng.), C.E.T., or equivalent) is required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent project management experience considered an asset.
- Strong technical understanding of construction methods and multi-disciplinary tasks, with a focus on instrumentation and process controls.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Knowledge of safety and quality procedures, activity scheduling, and discipline-specific work prioritization.
- Fluency in Spanish considered a valuable asset.
