Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced and fully independent Brake Press Setup Operator to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate must be able to manage the entire operation of the brake press from setup to shutdown, including tooling selection, programming, production, quality checks, and machine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently set up, program, operate, and shut down brake press machines (Amada, Trumpf, Accurpress, or similar).

  • Select correct tools and dies for various material types and thicknesses.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and bend instructions.

  • Perform accurate and efficient part forming with tight tolerances.

  • Inspect and verify dimensions using calipers, protractors, height gauges, and other measuring tools.

  • Troubleshoot any issues related to bend angles, tooling, or material deformation.

  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machine and tooling.

  • Follow all safety procedures and ensure the machine is operated in a safe, clean, and efficient manner.

  • Maintain quality, productivity, and efficiency with minimal waste and downtime.

  • Take complete ownership of production from start to finish.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating and setting up brake press machines in Canada.

  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.

  • Solid understanding of brake press functions, tooling setups, and CNC programming.

  • Strong blueprint reading and part inspection skills.

  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent accuracy.

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are an asset.
