Join WCYRs Fundraising Working Group

Are you passionate about creating meaningful community impact? Do you have skills in event planning, marketing, outreach, or donor engagement? We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our Fundraising Working Group!

As a member of the Fundraising Working Group, you will play a vital role in planning, promoting, and executing WCYRs signature fundraising events and campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals, develop new skills, and support programs that empower women and families in York Region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help plan and coordinate WCYR fundraising initiatives, including:
  • Celebrate HER Dinner (May)
  • Help Keep Her Safe Campaign
  • Winter Warmth Supplies Distribution to families
• Assist with:
  • Event logistics, marketing, and community outreach
  • Soliciting donations, sponsorships, and auction items
  • Day-of-event support and volunteer coordination
  • Ensuring events align with WCYRs ethical and operational standards
• Build partnerships with sponsors, local businesses, and community groups
• Support mini-events that raise awareness and funds throughout the year
• Collaborate closely with staff, the Fundraising Committee, and fellow volunteers

What Were Looking For:

• Passion for WCYRs mission to support and empower women
• Experience or interest in fundraising, events, marketing, or community engagement
• Strong organizational, communication, or networking skills

Time Commitment:

• Flexible volunteer hours depending on your availability (2-10 hours per month)
• Monthly planning meetings (virtual or in-person)
• Additional time leading up to key campaigns or events
