Job Title: Construction Estimator

Position Overview:
Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly reliable Construction Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for tendered or negotiated commercial, retail, and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Reporting To: President

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and related project documentation

• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis for labour, materials, and equipment

• Gather and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers

• Prepare and submit complete bid packages by required deadlines

• Recommend contract awards and assist in the selection of subcontractors

• Collaborate with Project Managers, internal teams, and clients to ensure accurate and precise estimating

• Maintain regular communication with subcontractors and vendors

• Ensure all estimates are completed with high accuracy and submitted on time

Qualifications:

• Graduate from a recognized program in Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Science

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in Canadian commercial/retail/industrial construction

• At least 5 years of Canadian work experience

• Hands-on construction experience in commercial/retail/industrial sectors is preferred

• Red Seal Carpenter certification or carpentry background is an asset

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities
