Indigenous Student Success Coordinator

Duties: Reporting to the Executive Director of Indigenous Strategy and Reconciliation, the Indigenous Student Success Coordinator supports Indigenous students throughout their academic journey, from recruitment to graduation and career transition. Working collaboratively across departments and with community partners, the coordinator addresses systemic barriers, promotes Indigenous ways of knowing, and leads the Indigenous Student Ambassador Program. In partnership with the Indigenous Cultural Coordinator, this role also provides reciprocal cross-coverage to ensure consistent, culturally grounded support and programming

Qualifications: Certificate in Indigenous Studies, Social Work, or a related discipline. University Studies Diploma or an Associate of Arts Degree in Indigenous Studies, Social Work is desirable. Proven ability to navigate institutional systems and advocate for Indigenous learners, with experience planning and delivering culturally relevant workshops for Indigenous learners. Skilled in leading and training Indigenous employees or volunteers, and a minimum of two years' experience supporting Indigenous learners.

A strong understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing is expected. Competence in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments. Strong understanding of cultural safety. Additionally, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational skills, excellent knowledge of MS Office, and valid Class 5 driver's license.

Salary: CUPE Pay Level 5 with a starting wage of $50,468.60 per year as per CUPE Collective Agreement. The College also offers a comprehensive range of benefits including defined pension, generous vacation entitlements, health, and dental plan, and more.
