POSITION SUMMARY
Haida Tourism is a Haida-owned company, owned and operated by Haida Enterprise Corporation (HaiCo). HaiCo is focused on building Haida owned enterprises that reflect Haida cultural values, investing in the training and mentorship of Haida Citizens, creating careers and improving the lives of Haida Citizens and the economy of Haida Gwaii.
The housekeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining the pristine condition of Haida House lodge and its cabins. This position involves a variety of tasks focused on ensuring that guests experience the highest level of cleanliness and comfort during their stay. Responsibilities will include thorough cleaning of guest rooms, common areas, and bathrooms, as well as restocking supplies and managing laundry services.
To uphold our commitment to excellent service, the housekeeper will work during evenings and weekends, adapting to the needs of our guests and the lodges busy schedule. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential, as is the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to established cleaning schedules.
- Conduct cleaning of assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures in accordance with designated housekeeping procedures.
- Wash and sanitize showers, toilets, mirrors, and sinks within each room.
- Regularly vacuum carpets and maintain cleanliness of floors.
- Ensure timely replacement and restocking of room amenities as necessary.
- Remove used bed linens and replace them with freshly laundered linens.
- Consistently check room lighting and appliances for functionality; report any issues to the Head Housekeeper promptly.
- Relocate furniture and set up arrangements for events as required.
- Empty and thoroughly clean garbage bins and wastebaskets.
- Observe and comply with safety practices, ensuring that health and safety procedures are properly implemented.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of laundry operations
- Knowledge of health and safety standards
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in housekeeping is considered an asset.
