POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Technical Writer will be responsible for transforming complex technical specifications of our equipment into clear, accurate, and client-facing documentation that supports sales and marketing efforts. This role requires the ability to collaborate with engineering and sales teams to create materials that are both technically sound and easily understood by non-technical audiences. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate technical content into compelling, professional documents tailored for client engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Content Development

Write and edit high-quality technical documents, including user manuals, system architecture guides, installation guides, release notes, and API documentation.

Develop and maintain clear, concise, and accurate technical specifications for equipment and systems.

Tailor content to meet the needs of diverse audiences, including developers, end-users, administrators, and sales teams.

Translate complex technical concepts into accessible, client-facing materials that support sales and marketing.

Information Gathering and Collaboration

Work closely with engineers, developers, and product managers to understand technical details and system functionality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to verify technical accuracy and gather content from multiple sources (e.g., software, hardware, engineering).

Participate in technical meetings, product reviews, and discussions to stay informed on updates and changes.

Documentation Management and Quality Assurance

Regularly update and revise documentation to reflect product improvements, new features, and system updates.

Ensure all content adheres to company standards, style guides, and best practices in technical writing.

Review and edit content for clarity, grammar, accuracy, and consistency.

Manage version control and documentation tracking to align with product development cycles.

Standards, Tools, and Continuous Improvement

Maintain and standardize documentation templates and formatting across product lines.

Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in technical writing and documentation management.

Continuously seek opportunities to improve documentation processes, tools, and output quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or Communications or related discipline.

Experience:

Proven experience in writing technical copy for a wide variety of mediums including but not limited to: instructions, manuals, spec sheets, SOPs, and client-facing sales and marketing materials.

Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills: Proven ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content. Experience tailoring content to various audiences (e.g., end-users, engineers, clients)

Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret system architecture, engineering specs, software, and hardware concepts. Comfortable working in engineering-driven or product-heavy environments.

Project Management: Proven experience working with cross-functional teams with the ability to manage multiple documentation projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Experience with Visual Communication Tools: Adobe Creative Suite, Visio, etc.
