Berendsen Fluid Power is one of North America's largest distributors of hydraulic and pneumatic products and services. We have one of the largest dedicated field sales forces in both the hydraulics and pneumatics industries with 42 locations across the US and Canada.
We are seeking a Customer Service / Manager for our Winnipeg branch. Candidates should have customer service experience, a mechanical aptitude, ability to learn quickly, computer literacy, self-motivation and excellent communication skills. The candidate will deal primarily with inbound calls from customers and will support field sales in all aspects of their jobs. The inside sales manager will train, mentor and direct all of the order desk personnel . In addition the inside sales manager is responsible for the shipping and receiving group for the branch as well as all aspects concerning operations in the facility.
Experience using Microsoft Excel/Word along with familiarity using AS400, as an operating system, would be a definite asset. Previous inside sales and knowledge of hydraulic / fluid power or a related technical discipline would be a strong asset.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responding to all communication methods used by customers and outside sales to generate quotes, providing accurate price, delivery, and technical information upon request.
- Entering customer orders and change orders are processed in a timely and efficient manner, communicating with all departments and vendors to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Being proactive in communicating all changes that may impact customers or internal teams.
- Interacting effectively with customers to develop a personal awareness of their needs.
- Working in a professional manner to resolve customer's problems and issues, using all available resources.
- Adhering to pricing policies as established by sales management; to include freight recovery, using sell matrices and contracts as applicable.
- Communicating regularly and timely with the ISM and any other personnel regarding performance, complaints, inquiries, competitive activities, problems, market conditions or other pertinent information.
- Informing all customers and prospects of established terms and conditions of sale.
- Assuring all adjustments, product returns, credits and other pertinent dealings are performed accurately and timely with proper documentation.
- Processing credit requests, rebates and maintaining office files.
- Maintaining inventory records and quality control practices.
- Receiving goods, unloading vehicles; accepting deliveries; unpacking containers.
- Verifying products received by inspecting the condition of items; comparing/count to purchase order and packing list; noting discrepancies.
- Documenting product received by recording identifying information.
- Documenting product shipped by recording identifying information of items and transport information.
- Preparing shipments by assembling, packing, protecting, and labeling containers.
- Packing finished goods for international shipments.
- Shipping of material transfers between branches.
- Provide direct supervision of Inside Sales Representative.
- Plan and direct day-to-day activities related to the Inside Sales functions.
- Secure authorizations to hire, and working with the Corporate Recruiter, recruit qualify, select and train personnel.
- Provide technical and systems assistance to branch personnel as needed.
- Work closely and as a team with Field Sales personnel on all issues relating to customers.
- Provide oversight and management of physical facility, security of assets, including local inventory and proprietary information.
- Schedule and participate in regular customer sales calls with ISR, Field Sales Reps and Field Sales Managers
- Meet or exceed company forecasts and targets.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires minimum one year of supervisory experience in applied technology, distribution or a closely related inside sales organization.
- Product Knowledge (technical and applications).
- Must work on own initiative with minimal supervision, in concert with and supportive of Sales, Logistics and Operations personnel.
- Must have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
- Sound mainframe background including keyboarding skills, data entry, etc.
