About the Role:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance, and managing day-to-day financial operations. You'll enjoy a Tuesday to Friday schedule (32 hours/week) — offering both structure and flexibility, with no weekend work required.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Post transactions, reconcile subsidiary and general ledger accounts, and ensure legal and internal compliance.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Cash Flow & Budgeting: Monitor and forecast cash flow to support informed financial decisions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare regular reports and conduct analysis to identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Audit & Tax Support: Compile documentation for audits and assist with tax filings and compliance.
  • Inventory & Purchasing Integration: Utilize systems that support inventory tracking and purchase orders.
  • Policy & Procedure Support: Assist with the development of internal financial controls and bookkeeping standards.
  • Collaboration: Communicate with internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders as needed to support accurate financial processes.
  • Support Team Success: Step in with general administrative or financial tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: College diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certification: CPA designation is an asset but not required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience; experience in small business or product-based environments is preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong skills in QuickBooks (Desktop Pro and Online) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of inventory and purchase order systems is a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to manage accounts, perform reconciliations, and produce financial reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to evolving needs or priorities.
