Position Summary

Community Living Greater Sudbury (CLGS) is seeking a compassionate and strategic Health and Well-Being Leader to guide and support our organization's health, safety, and wellness efforts. This leadership role is responsible for advancing the physical, mental, and psychosocial wellness of the individuals we support, our staff, and their families.

Working closely with staff, managers, families, and healthcare providers, the Health and Well-Being Leader will help identify and respond to health concerns, build community partnerships, develop best practices in care, and foster a positive, safety-first workplace culture aligned with trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a central resource for staff, families, and leadership on physical and mental health concerns.
  • Support teams in gathering health information and advocating for appropriate medical or mental health interventions.
  • Lead health and safety compliance in collaboration with HR, managers, and the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with community health and mental health providers.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training that promote trauma-informed and psychosocial wellness practices.
  • Review and oversee clinical documentation and participate in care planning for individuals in crisis.
  • Facilitate medical and controlled act training per Quality Assurance Measures regulations.
  • Guide and monitor disability management, WSIB processes, return-to-work plans, and staff accommodations.
  • Partner with HR to build and implement employee wellness programs.
  • Provide Tier 2 on-call support on a rotating basis.
  • Participate in developing and monitoring individual plans, staff performance, and overall wellness strategies.
  • Ensure alignment with legislation, organizational policies, collective agreements, and health-related protocols.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Practical Nursing, Psychology, Mental Health, or a related field.
  • 12 years of leadership experience in a healthcare or social service setting.
  • Extensive experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Strong knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care, Positive Approaches, and Psychosocial Wellness.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in team building, conflict resolution, and staff coaching.
  • Familiarity with Ontario health and safety legislation, HR policies, and administrative best practices.
  • Valid drivers license and personal vehicle required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (required).
  • High level of computer proficiency and ability to manage documentation systems.
