POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling fabricated parts into large or heavy subassemblies and complete units, testing and calibrating parts to ensure they meet tolerances and product specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY: Read and understand engineered drawings to assemble units according to specifications. Accurately assemble fabricated parts into large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Fit, test, and calibrate parts and mechanisms to ensure they meet tolerances and product specifications.

Operate material handling devices, including pallet jacks and mobile floor cranes. Utilize basic hand and power tools, such as wrenches, pliers, drills, and impacts, for assembly tasks.

Use a propane hand torch to apply shrink wrap to products and build shipping pallets as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma

SKILLS:

BASIC MECHANICAL UNDERSTANDING AND APTITUDE: Demonstrate a fundamental grasp of mechanical concepts and skills for assembly tasks.

BASIC MATH SKILLS: Proficient in measurements and calculations necessary for assembly work.

PHYSICAL ABILITY: Able to lift 22kgs (50lbs) and stand for long periods of time.

TOOL PROFICIENCY: Skilled in using hand tools, small power tools, and equipment effectively.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Strong focus on detail to ensure quality in assembly processes.
