About the Role
The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing new or enhanced application systems and programs in collaboration with the client's Technology team. The primary objective is to lead system analysis and application development initiatives that support strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Lead Data Scientist and Client Leadership to ensure seamless integration of system functions that align with business objectives. Identify and define system enhancements for new product deployment and process optimization.
  • Analyze and resolve complex, high-impact issues and projects by evaluating intricate business and system processes, as well as aligning with industry best practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advanced programming knowledge to ensure system design aligns with the architecture framework.
  • Apply deep understanding of system workflows to establish standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
  • Develop a strong understanding of how various technology domains—such as infrastructure and architecture—interconnect to support business outcomes.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and use design thinking to assess challenges and develop innovative, actionable solutions.
  • Proactively assess and manage risk in business decision-making, with a focus on maintaining the company's integrity and reputation. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and escalate or report control issues transparently as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience and Skills You'll Bring to the Role:

  • Extensive, hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong track record of developing end-to-end analytics solutions.
  • Proven experience developing data pipelines on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud to support ML model training, inference and analytics.
  • Familiarity with ML concepts (e.g., feature stores, model inputs/outputs, retraining triggers).
  • Proficiency with data modelling and data management tools, including but not limited to SQL Server, Oracle DB, Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Factory.
  • Strong knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Microsoft BI.
  • Creation of Technical Specifications and design documents.
  • Familiarity with machine learning libraries and frameworks, particularly in Python, SQL, Spark, and AI/deep learning frameworks, is a strong asset.

Nice to Have

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional machine learning teams, including ML Ops.
  • Familiarity with tools data Lake-house architectures
  • Background or experience in Sales is also valued.
