Our client is a well-established supplier of industrial products based in the GTA, and they're looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Junior Controller to join their finance team. In this role, you'll support key areas like financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, all within a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, including preparation of balance sheets and income statements.
- Support Sage Project costing for fabricated items.
- Assist with A/P and A/R functions, including invoice approval, payment tracking, and collections.
- Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with vacation tracking and payroll processing.
- Assist with internal controls and audit processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist with preparation of financial statements for management and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support CTPAT and ISO certification and compliance procedures.
- Work closely with the President to support financial decision-making and business operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAGE 300 accounting software.
- Familiarity with A/P and A/R processes and best practices.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
