The Field Service Technician is the key technical operations interface between Cahill Heating and our customers with the primary goal of making sure overall quality and customer satisfaction goals are exceeded. Requires a highly-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced customer service environment, seeks challenges and thinks creatively for solutions while troubleshooting, testing, repairing and operating machinery and equipment as directed by Supervisors and Lead Personnel.
Working with limited supervision, Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Install equipment and conduct trial run of machinery to ensure performance rates and quality meet established specifications both in-house and on customer locations.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of heating equipment and document actions on relevant information systems.
- Perform maintenance and repair on equipment both in-house and on customer locations.
- Diagnose equipment failures both in-house and on customer locations, and make required repairs of equipment to fully resolve technical issues.
- Conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.
- Complete paperwork in a timely and accurate manner which may include data entry and general use of relevant computer systems and software to maintain accurate records on equipment and preventative maintenance.
- Drive for results to help company achieve standards of excellence.
- Train customer employees on how to maintain machinery.
- Ensure field services are effective and customers' requirements are met.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of and capability in reading and understanding schematics.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of, actively practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Province and Country required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment.
- Obtain and maintain necessary certifications required to operate any equipment as needed.
- Maintain and continue to develop in-depth knowledge of products and services. Ability to travel when needed.
- Maintain a valid passport for international travel, when necessary
- Operate onsite in an on-call capacity.
- Ability to drive company truck long-distance in varying and extreme weather climates, therefore maintain a good driving record
- Ability to pull equipment trailer weighing up to 8,000 lbs. to job sites of varying distances.

- Ensures that physical inventory levels are monitored and replenished as needed.
- Recommend changes to products or services to fulfill customer needs.

Education/Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years technical experience in a field customer service environment, preferred – Excellent technical and organization skills
- Exceptional communication and people skills
- Good judgment, with ability to set priorities, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective listening, and ability to communicate both verbally and written, professionally.
- Experience demonstrating superior customer service
- Leadership skills with demonstrated action, follow-through and decision-making ability to take ownership of responsibilities and champion customer service
Certificates and Licenses: Valid Drivers License
**This job requires you to be available to work one/two weekends on-call a month as well as the ability to travel on short notice and/or be gone for work for weeks at a time (scheduled)
