Position Summary

As a Decor Crew Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of decorators, ensuring the seamless execution of event decor setups, and delivering exceptional decorative experiences for our clients. Your strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to transform event spaces will play a crucial role in creating memorable events.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Team Management:

    • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of decor crew members to ensure efficient and effective execution of event setups.
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities among the crew members based on their skills and expertise.
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

2. Project Management

    • Collaborate with event planners, clients, and the design team to understand event requirements, themes, and decor specifications.
    • Plan and organize the workflow, including assigning tasks, coordinating schedules, and managing resources to meet project deadlines.
    • Conduct pre-event briefings with the crew to communicate event details, expectations, and roles.

3. Decor Setup and Design:

    • Lead the setup and installation of event decor elements, ensuring they align with the design plans and client expectations.
    • Supervise the placement of backdrops, drapery, centerpieces, table settings, lighting fixtures, and other decorative items, ensuring they enhance the overall event ambiance.
    • Oversee quality control checks to maintain high standards of decor items and report any damages or issues for repair or replacement.

4. Client Interaction:

    • Interact professionally with clients, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their vision for the event decor is realized to the highest standards.
    • Provide excellent customer service, accommodating client requests and changes while maintaining the overall event design integrity.

5. Venue Familiarity and Adaptability:

    • Conduct site visits to become familiar with event venues, adapting decor plans according to the venue's layout and unique features.
    • Problem-solve on-site challenges related to decor setup, ensuring seamless execution even in unconventional spaces.
    • Maintain and build rapport with venue and supplier staff, ensuring a good working relationship with all.

6. Inventory Management and Maintenance:

    • Oversee inventory management, including maintaining accurate records, restocking items, and organizing the warehouse for efficient access to decor elements.
    • Collaborate with the inventory team to track stock levels, order supplies, and ensure availability of necessary items for upcoming events.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant education or certification in event planning, design, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in event decoration, set design, or a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and diverse decor setups.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and inspire a team to achieve outstanding results.
  • Exceptional creativity, attention to detail, and a keen eye for design, color, and aesthetics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift, carry, and move heavy decor items.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to event venues.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to time manage and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and ability to adhere to workplace safety precautions.
