Quality Control Supervisor
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality operations and employees in the production environment. This role involves planning, assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements to enhance production quality. This includes but not limited to shop floor problem solving, root cause analysis, NCR's, corrective actions to address customer issues or RMA, supplier SCARs and issue management. The Quality Supervisor plays a key role in balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results across all areas.
As a Quality Control Supervisor, you will:
- Lead and supervise quality inspection teams responsible for incoming, in-process and final inspections, ensuring adherence to established quality standards and procedures.
- Control manpower and materials to ensure accurate and timely completion of production tasks while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Initiate, implement, and lead continuous improvement activities focused on enhancing production quality, including researching new processes, procedures, and equipment.
- Develop, track, monitor and report quality performances related to inspection, non-conformance handlings and process controls.
- Strong performance management and ability to positively influence the team to reach excellence in quality.
- Continuously evaluate and improve inspection processes and inspection results using lean concepts and Six Sigma methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Operational Excellence to establish value stream priorities and implement improvements, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Supervise Quality Control (QC) employees, track absenteeism, and maintain timekeeping records to ensure optimal team performance.
- Review and approve timecards to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide mentoring, development, and coaching to employees to enhance their work skills and improve department throughput.
- Recommend and implement disciplinary actions when necessary to address performance issues and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor production schedules and results, identifying and addressing quality issues, production delays, and other related concerns.
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to the manager.
- Manage and implement calibration, process audit, quality alert, safety alert
- Support the review and updating of work instructions, ensuring alignment with quality standards and providing training to team members for seamless implementation.
- Collaborate with After Market Service, RMA, Quality Engineers, Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and Planning teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve overall production quality.
- Manage employee scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage for quality operations and managing vacation schedules to maintain production continuity.
- Other duties as assigned
We are looking for someone who has:
- 5-7 years' progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 3 years of experience directing hourly or manufacturing workforce
- High school diploma or GED
- Intermediate/ advanced computer skills including experience using the MS Office suite, a business planning and inventory system
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Strong leadership in driving change management
What we offer you:
Typical pay is $59,000 – $81,000 annually.
