Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and balance various accounts using computerized bookkeeping software (QuickBooks and Excel)
- Post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and prepare trial balances
- Maintain general ledgers and assist with the preparation of financial statements
- Process payroll and prepare cheques for utilities, taxes, and other expenses
- Complete and file government remittances (GST/HST, WCB, CPP, EI)
- Assist with year-end preparation and internal financial reporting
- Support the General Manager in preparing documentation for import/export, CFIA, CBSA (CARM), and business registrations
- Help standardize procedures across affiliated businesses under common ownership
- Provide administrative support for other finance-related projects
Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school is required
- Completion of a college diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field, OR
Several years of relevant experience with bookkeeping coursework
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and Canadian payroll standards
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
- Experience in a regulated or export-focused environment is considered an asset
- Strong communication and organizational skills
