Job Summary
Total SignWorks is seeking an experienced Lead Sign Maker to join our team. The Lead Sign Maker is a seasoned professional, self-motivated team leader with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellence. Responsibilities

• Design and produce a wide variety of signs from inception to completion.
• Full-time availability (40 hours/week)
• Operate and maintain large format printers, cutters, and laminators.
• Prepare and apply vinyl graphics to various substrates for sign production.
• Manage and track electronic and paper records related to jobs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the manufacturing/production area.
• Answer phones and take messages, providing excellent customer service.
• Consult and interface with customers to ensure their signage needs are met.
• Perform simple in-shop installations and occasional on-site installations.
• Prepare mock-ups and propose effective materials for sign projects.
• Learn and adapt to new technologies, skills, and techniques to enhance sign-making proficiency.
• Assist in maintaining company signage equipment.
• Ensure timely completion of print production tasks.
• Lead and mentor junior team member, providing guidance and support.
• Oversee project management, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a professional sign maker in design and production.
• Expertise in vinyl creation, application, and operating large format digital printers, plotters, and laminators.
• Proficiency in using Adobe Design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and RIP software.
• Knowledge in color management.
• Experience with pre-flighting and creating proofs from client artwork.
• Knowledge of sign fabrication methods and materials.
• Ability to create shop drawings and layouts for permits, fabrication, and installation.
• Strong design creativity and attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a professional and polished demeanor with coworkers, customers and subcontractors.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow work orders accurately.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to propose effective materials for sign projects.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects efficiently. 5+ years of experience as a professional sign maker design and production
• Experience in project management and overseeing complex sign projects.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Desirable Qualifications

• Vehicle wrap installation experience
• Certified installation professional (3M, Avery, etc.)
