Purpose of Position

Case Managers oversee a caseload of assigned instructors, learners, and families.
They are responsible for facilitating communication between all parties and ensuring service delivery is individualized, research-informed, and generally aligned with LDS values and instructional approach.

Case Managers monitor the implementation of individualized learning programs and support instructors with best practices. The position reports to our Lead Case Manager
and works collaboratively with the entire team to ensure the efficacy of service delivery. During non-instructional times (summer, school breaks), other duties are assigned based on individual interests and strengths.

Principal Roles and Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a large caseload (100+) of instructors, learners, and families
  • Facilitate communication between instructors and families, and at times with schools and other professionals via multiple communication channels (written, verbal)
  • Support instructors with finding the best individualized approach for each learner and planning appropriate sessions
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on year-long learning plans developed by instructors to ensure effective and values-aligned program delivery
  • Participate in observing instructors sessions
  • Attend and contribute toregular case management meetings

Competencies

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (English; French not required)
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage a large caseload during peak (and off-peak) times
  • Ability to mentor and support new instructors
  • Exceptionally organized using digital shared platforms (databases, excel sheets, etc.)
  • Compassionate and caring, with an ability to set professional and privacy boundaries in sometimes-challenging conversations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in education
  • Experience teaching in inclusive education environments, including experience teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics with a structured, systematic, explicit approach
    Experience working with children with diagnosed or suspected learning differences
  • Ability to use assessment strategies and instruments to identify
    gaps in learning
    An understanding of the BC curriculum, or an ability to gain quick understanding
    Criminal record check with the vulnerable sector
    Eligibility to work in Canada

Good to have

  • Experience working with complex behavioural profiles and/or within Trauma-Informed Practices (asset)
  • Experience managing or supervising instructors or teachers (asset)

Start date:
August 5, 2025 (or by August 18, 2025, at the latest)

Reports to: Lead Case Manager

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday.

  • Availability until 6:30 pm isrequired on at least one weekday evening, with flexibility on the other four workdays to work between 9:30 am and 7:30 pm.
  • Occasional(less than once a month) pre-scheduled evenings to 7:30 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5pm will be required to facilitate instructor observations and support.

Remuneration and Benefits: $57,000 - $61,000/year

  • Paid vacation, and office closure from December 25 and January 1 that does not count toward your vacation

Location: East Vancouver Learning Centre (3292 - 3298 E Broadway & 2607 Rupert Street). Occasional pre-schedule travel to North Vancouver, mobile and at school program delivery sites will be required.
