Davis Chevrolet GMC Buick in Airdrie is in a unique stage of transformation as we look to re-shape our sales floor model, and we're looking for a Sales Manager to help drive the change. Reporting to the GSM, the Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and supporting our sales consultants in the achievement of their goals to drive business results while enhancing the customer experience and overall profitability of the floor. The successful candidate can expect to earn $90,000 - $140,000 through a salary + performance-based pay plan.

Our ideal candidate is not afraid to be boots-on-the-ground and dig in, has a proven sales track record and thrives on developing people and improving process.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Desk deals and oversee the sales floor including individual deal closing and the overall adherence to standards on sales processes
  • Lead, manage and support the sales team to hold them accountable to achieving current business and productivity goals
  • Work closely with the GSM to develop and execute a detailed training program to train, coach and mentor sales employees on best practices for closing deals and provide advice and guidance to improve sales performance
  • Conduct team and one-on-one meetings to share successes, progress towards goal achievement, understand barriers and challenges and make suggestions to remove barriers and improve performance
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of employees while taking an active role in developing talent for the future
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, ensuring our employees make customer satisfaction a priority to create customer loyalty and generate referrals
  • Keep abreast of all the manufacturer's current product and promotions and communicates changes to the sales team
  • Maintain effective communication within the sales department and with other leaders in the dealership; working together to identify opportunities and resolve issues
  • Performs other tasks and duties as required

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years' experience as a Sales Manager with progressive leadership within a dealership setting is required
  • Proven leadership ability and teambuilding skills to effectively motivate, inspire and manage employees
  • A team player committed to working with leadership and employees to ensure goal alignment and achievement
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills with a continuous improvement pedigree
  • Results driven with exceptional planning, organization and execution skills and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills including the ability to use tact, sensitivity, empathy and professionalism when interacting with customers and employees
  • Post secondary education in dealership management, business or a related area of study would be an asset
  • A valid Driver's License and satisfactory completion of a criminal and credit background check
