Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Research 1, the Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting in various research tasks. This is a temporary (1 year), full-time, non-union, non-management position, with possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
Provide key operational support for clinical research projects such as maintaining study documents, managing regulatory requirements, ethics submissions, and departmental approvals
Assists with screening, recruiting, and obtaining informed consent from research participants
Conduct study visits
Assist with investigational medicinal product accountability
Data collection, entry, and management activities within clinical projects
Collaborates with medical staff
Resolves issued queries in order to assure the accuracy of data
Supports other tasks relevant to ongoing research progress as needed (e.g., development of templates, revising data collection tools, policies, guidelines, and improved processes)
Supports senior research staff with other related duties, as required and dependent on training and experience
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in a biological, health, or medical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Skills / Training
Experience with data collection and data entry for research projects
Training and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.)
Demonstrated knowledge of research regulations and guidelines such as the TCPS
Bilingual in English and French an asset

Hours
- 37.5 hr work week
Schedule may vary to meet demands, may be required to work outside of regular working days/hours for research project related deadlines.
Salary
$27.38 to $28.99 / hr
Commensurate with experience.
