Position Summary
Bow Valley College is seeking a passionate and skilled Instructor, Health Data Analytics to join our dynamic School of Technology. In this role, the successful candidate will apply their expertise in teaching and learning to deliver inclusive and engaging educational experiences that help learners develop essential skills in health data management and analytics. This position is ideal for an innovative educator who thrives in collaborative environments and is eager to contribute to the growth of an exciting and future-focused academic program.
The Instructor plays a key role in guiding the development and delivery of curriculum and instructional methodologies within the Health Data Analytics program. Responsibilities include facilitating learning for students of varying skill levels, delivering courses in health data analytics and related topics, and engaging in ongoing research to enhance instructional practices. Working closely with fellow faculty and internal stakeholders, the Instructor will also contribute to curriculum design and review, support best practices in course delivery, and help promote student success through initiatives such as orientation, graduation, and recruitment events.
Equally important is the Instructors role in building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders. This includes liaising with industry partners to support student placements, program relevance, and partnership opportunities, as well as staying current on emerging trends and technologies within the health data analytics field. The successful candidate will also represent the College through participation in industry networking events and advisory committees.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related field.
- Minimum of two years of instructional experience in post-secondary, adult education, or corporate training.
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity.
- A combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
- Direct experience teaching health data analytics.
- Demonstrated success working within collaborative project teams.
- Experience in cross-functional, multi-unit environments.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in health data management, analytics, and applications of AI in the healthcare field.
- Instructional experience in post-secondary or related professional settings.
- Exceptional writing and organizational skills.
- Experience using online learning platforms such as D2L, Blackboard, or Moodle.
